Re-Match gets EuCertPlast certification
The artificial turf recycler, Re-Match, have been accredited with yet another certification of its processes. This time, the focus has been on the sustainable and traceable processing and handling of the plastic fibres, which is covered by the EuCertPlast certificate.
Re-Match has since 2016 recycled more than 600 artificial turf pitches in its facility in Herning, Denmark. These pitches have come from countries across Northern Europe and the company’s patented recycling process has received both EU ETV (Environmental Technology Verification) and ISO 9001 approval.
The EuCertPlast certification validates that a recycler applies best practice processes, complies with operational standards for recycling of plastic – and handles the plastic fibres in an environmentally responsible way which also allows full traceability of the recycled material. The fact that Re-Match is fully aligned with these requirements was verified by the independent German agency, Cyclos. Their consultants conducted a thorough audit of Re-Match’s numbers, processes, licenses and permissions and information providing the required transparency in terms of origin, separation and storage of material – as well as the destination of the recycled plastic fibre.
“With our EUCertPlast certification, we want to emphasize our continued focus on transparency and best practice in artificial turf recycling. At the same time, we are seeing that such certification is increasingly in demand by customers and partners. This is good news for sustainable recycling of artificial turf in Europe and for turf industry as a whole,” CEO, Nikolaj Magne Larsen concludes.
