Re-Match prepares entry on the UK market

– and hires experienced profile as Regional Sales Manager

In continuance of its expansionary strategy, the category leading artificial turf recycler Re-Match takes the first step in establishing a UK-based organisation and engages Mr Barry Stocker in the role as Regional Sales Manager.

Re-Match, which is based in Herning, Denmark and has two other factories underway in the Netherlands and France, is continuing the journey towards making its patented recycling solution available globally and now sets its sights on the UK market. With around 3000 artificial pitches installed and around 100-150 pitches being replaced every year – the waste stream of end-of-life turf deriving from this is significant. However, for Re-Match, it is necessary to secure not only volume to be recycled but also to develop a market for the recycled end products which can either go back into new pitches or enter into other production cycles.

This meant that it was of great importance to Re-Match to find someone with deep market experience to start the UK entry. CEO and Co-founder of Re-Match, Nikolaj Magne Larsen, says: “I am very happy that we have been able to attract such a strong profile with both experience and a keen understanding of the dynamics of the artificial turf market. This will be a great advantage in the work that we have ahead of us with establishing Re-Match in the UK.”

Barry Stocker has been in the business for 25 years and has held positions in Charles Lawrence Recycling, Murfitt Industries and most recently as Director of Genan in the UK.

“I look very much forward to this new challenge within the sports surface industry,” says Barry Stocker, and continues: ”Ever since I first heard about Re-Match’s technology and concept, I have been a strong supporter and contributing to making the most advanced turf recycling solution available in the UK.”

Barry Stocker will start in his new position on 1 February 2021.
