Herning, Denmark, 29 June 2023 – Re-Match, a pioneer within sustainable recycling of artificial turf, brings on board Christian Ørum as new CEO as Nikolaj Magne Larsen hands over the reins to dedicate his full energy on the company’s international expansion and financing.
Having completed the company’s delisting and brought in the European growth partner Verdane as majority shareholder together with existing investor, Nordic Alpha Partners, Nikolaj Magne Larsen now steps down from the CEO position in order to invest his full energy to the plan for accelerated international growth. Christian Ørum, a seasoned executive with experience from both industrial and recycling businesses, takes over as new CEO.
“We are very pleased to welcome Christian to Re-Match,” says Re-Match chairperson, Henrik Grand Petersen. “This change marks the next step in our expansionary strategy and Christian has through his results and experience from international companies shown that he is a strong match for the journey ahead,” Nikolaj Magne Larsen adds. “Personally, I am eager to dedicate my efforts to the international growth plan that we already started a while back and expect to be able to accelerate”.
Christian Ørum, who among others, has been CEO of the international waste handling and recycling company, Marius Pedersen A/S, says: “I am very excited about this opportunity. I am really looking forward to taking on this new challenge together with the competent and engaged team at Re-Match.”
The new CEO steps into his role as Re-Match continues its highly expansive global factory roll-out strategy.
“At this junction, I would like to thank our co-founder, Nikolaj Magne Larsen for his two years as CEO and for his big contribution to Re-Match’s goal of becoming the new standard in artificial turf recycling,” Henrik Grand Petersen concludes.
Christian Ørum assumes the position as CEO with immediate effect.

Re-Match, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Denmark, is a pioneer in material recovery of artificial turf pitches. With its patented technology, the Herning-based company offers an environmentally sustainable recycling process that has received EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV), as well as EuCertPlast. Also, the Herning factory has received ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications.
Since its inception, Re-Match has recycled more than 160.000 tonnes of waste and hereof plastic fibre equivalent to more than 710 mill. plastic bags.
Re-Match has recently completed its second factory in Tiel, Netherlands, and has started building the third factory in Erstein, France and are planning to build additional factories to the same template in USA.
