Re-Match ready to build its first North American facility
The Danish recycler of artificial turf, Re-Match, continues its growth plans and will establish the first of several North American recycling factories in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania – just 200 km from New York City.

The result will be a state-of-the-art recycling facility – using the same template developed for its coming factories in the Netherlands and France. When operational, the factory will be able to process more than 60.000 tons of waste and save the environment from up to 100.000 tons of CO2 every year – if compared to the turf being incinerated.
Re-Match will invest EUR 8.5 mill. its new recycling facility creating approx. 40 new, full-time jobs over the next three years. At the same time local authorities will provide support in the form of an industrial development loan of EUR 1,6 mill. along with a total of EUR 150.000 in various grants.
“Re-Match has been very well received in Pennsylvania. From the quick and professional environmental permit process to the very constructive dialogue that we have had with the Governor’s Action Team – who have decided to support the arrival of Re-Match,” said CEO of Re-Match, Nikolaj Magne Larsen. “With the location in Luzerne County we will be able to offer sustainable recycling of to an area with a high concentration of artificial turf fields – and I am happy to take this next step on our journey towards establishing 24 Re-Match factories across the world.”
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
“In Pennsylvania, we take pride in our friendly business climate and manufacturing excellence, and we are pleased to welcome Re-Match,” said Governor Tom Wolf. “With their first North American facility, the company will not only be creating new jobs and support the local economy – they will also offer a sustainable solution to a waste stream which poses a significant challenge to the environment.”
