Re-Match reshuffles management to increase expansion focus
CEO becomes COO and co-founder takes the helm
With two new factories in the pipeline and up to 21 more on the horizon, Danish recycler of synthetic turf, Re-Match A/S, announces a change in its leadership and introduces Nikolaj Magne Larsen as new CEO. Dr. Stefaan Florquin will instead focus on the building of factories in the capacity as COO.
After 1,5 years as CEO setting up the Re-Match organisation for the planned strategic expansion, Stefaan Florquin will now be responsible for operations – with a strong focus on building the new factories in the Netherlands and France as well as future facilities in both EU and North America. He passes on the baton to co-founder of Re-Match, Nikolaj Magne Larsen who has until now been focusing on the next wave expansion of the business including new structure in France as well as the upcoming North American and UK expansion.
With the entry of lead investor Nordic Alpha Partners, Re-Match has positioned itself as the category leader within recycling of artificial turf and has also launched an expansionary strategy which will soon be seen in the building of factories in the Netherlands and in France.
“Stefaan has done a fantastic job preparing the fundamentals of the business for the next growth phase – and he now continues contributing with his extensive experience and industry insights within operations,” says Re-Match chairman, Laurits Bach Sørensen and continues: “By introducing Nikolaj Magne Larsen into the daily leadership we get the perfect setup with Stefaan in charge of operational scaling and with Nikolaj on the commercial and strategic expansion.”
Having worked the past 1,5 years towards realising this next step for Re-Match, Nikolaj Magne Larsen knows that laying the groundwork has been a huge undertaking. “Now, we do not only have advanced technology we also have an approach to international expansion which is scalable due to our ability to build state-of-the art, digitalized recycling factories on across Europe and North America using the same template,” says Nikolaj Magne Larsen, “Stefaan has been instrumental in making this possible and I look forward to continuing our cooperation.”
The excitement about what the future holds for Re-Match is shared by the new COO: “Scaling operations across geographies is second nature to me,” says Stefaan Florquin. ”So, I am looking forward to diverting my full attention to this work and I am really proud to see our team having reached this milestone already.”
As a part of the reshuffle, co-founder Dennis Andersen, now leaves his customer facing responsibilities in Re-Match and will contribute with his vast industry experience as advisor to the leadership of the company. “I am happy to see that the company which we founded only five years ago has reached a point where we can put all forces behind our roll-out plan. As such, it is with ease of mind that I now leave all daily duties to the new management and look forward to supporting the continued growth-journey of Re-Match,” says Dennis Andersen.
The change of management is effective from 1st September 2020.
